“People don’t have ideas, ideas have people.”
~ Carl Jung
Where do thoughts come from?
They seem to appear from nowhere.
We are the observer of these thoughts….not the thinker.
Millions have the same or similar thoughts as you have…where do they come from?
You are aware of your thoughts but you can’t control them.
In fact if you try to stop them, they may even increase.
You can't stop a fire with a flame, so why would you try to stop overthinking with more thinking?
You are not in control of your thoughts.
You never know when they will arise.
Thoughts seem to just appear.
From where, how…if we are a receiver what is the transmitter?
Thoughts are energy, can we adjust our receiving frequency to receive control and filter incoming vibrations?
We don’t know why were are sometime s happy or sad.
We have no control.
You cannot stop your thoughts. Even the thought of stopping your thoughts is a thought which leads to infinite recursion.
Once we accept we have no control, we will stop trying to control of change them.
Don’t try to get rid of the thoughts…detach from them…they are not you.
Do not accept your thoughts as fact.
“Reality is created by the mind, we can change our reality by changing our mind.”
~Plato
Even labeling them as good…bad…is relative.
Ask if this is true, an assumption, or just my ego with an agenda.
Let thoughts come and go.
They do not require action.
Be amused by them.
Your thoughts are interpretations and are not necessary true…they are judgement.
Taking these thoughts as representing reality causes unnecessary suffering.
Your interpretation of these thoughts cause suffering, nit the thoughts themselves.
They are not you. Thoughts cannot know you.
If everything is one then aren’t my thoughts and myself also the same?
Our minds are like a bustling marketplace, overflowing with sights, sounds, and emotions. Thoughts, like the vendors in the market, constantly vie for our attention, offering wares both captivating and mundane. However, just like a wise shopper who navigates the market with discernment, we can learn to observe the thoughts without getting swept away by their allure. By maintaining a mindful awareness, we can choose which thoughts to engage with and which to let pass, allowing ourselves to remain centered and grounded amidst the constant mental chatter.
“This being human is a guest house. Every morning is a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor...Welcome and entertain them all. Treat each guest honorably. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.”
